Terms of Service
Effective July 7, 2026
1. Who we are
Homebook (“we,” “us”) provides school-operations software at gethomebook.com and app.gethomebook.com (the “Service”) for homeschools, microschools, and private schools. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- The person who creates a school in Homebook (and anyone they grant admin access) controls that school’s data and who may access it.
- You must be at least 18 to create a school account.
3. Your data belongs to you
- Everything your school enters — students, attendance, grades, records, documents — belongs to your school, not to us.
- You can export your data (CSV) at any time, and you may request full deletion of your school’s data at any time.
- We never sell your data or your students’ data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Subscriptions & billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
- You may cancel anytime; your plan runs through the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t offer partial-period refunds, but we’ll always be reasonable.
- Founding-school pricing, where offered, stays locked for as long as your subscription remains active.
- We may change pricing for new customers or add plans; we’ll give existing customers at least 30 days’ notice of any change that affects them.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to break the law, infringe others’ rights, upload malicious code, attempt to access other schools’ data, or resell the Service. We may suspend accounts that put other customers or the platform at risk.
6. Compliance is a shared job
Homebook provides record-keeping and reminder tools (for example, around Arkansas EFA requirements). We work hard to keep these accurate, but your school remains solely responsible for meeting its legal, regulatory, and program obligations, including EFA/ESA program rules, which can change. Homebook is not legal, tax, or compliance advice.
7. Service availability
We aim for the Service to be fast and reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We may update, add, or remove features as the product evolves.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homebook’s total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination you may request an export of your data for up to 30 days, after which it may be permanently deleted.
10. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we’ll post the updated Terms here and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
11. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, USA. Questions? Email sam@gethomebook.com.
